StudyLog - Privacy Policy

We take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy details the types of information StudyLog collects, processes, and stores, and how we protect it.

1. Information We Collect & Process

A. Account Information (Cloud Sync)

If you explicitly sign in with Google to enable Cloud Sync:

We receive your Google profile name, email address, and profile photo URL.
This data is used solely to authenticate your account and securely synchronize your academic records (courses, grades, notes, tasks) across your devices.

B. User-Generated Data

The courses, tasks, notes, and grades you enter are stored locally in a private database on your device. If Cloud Sync is enabled, this data is sent securely to our Firebase servers for backup.

C. System Calendar Data (Calendar Sync)

If you grant the optional Calendar permissions (Read/Write Calendar):

StudyLog reads and writes your course schedules directly to your device's native calendar.
THIS CALENDAR DATA IS PROCESSED STRICTLY ON-DEVICE. We never upload your calendar events or details to our servers.

D. Screen Time Usage Data (Screen Time Tracker)

If you grant the optional Usage Access permission:

StudyLog aggregates app usage durations using Android's UsageStatsManager API to help you visualize screen time statistics.
THIS DATA IS PROCESSED STRICTLY ON-DEVICE. Screen usage details, app names, and activity logs are never sent to our servers or shared with third parties.

2. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third-party advertising networks, data brokers, or companies. Data is only transferred to Google Firebase services for authentication and database synchronization.

3. Data Retention & Deletion Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and Google Play Store policies, you have complete control over your data:

Clear Cloud Data: You can delete all synchronized cloud records at any time in Settings.
Delete Account: You can permanently delete your authenticated account and all related data in Settings.
Local Data: Uninstalling the App immediately purges all local databases from your device.

4. Security

We implement industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest within Firebase. However, no transmission method is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
